04 Team Strategy, Planning and Facilitation Sessions
Run by one of more of our deeply experienced team coaches, we apply a mixture of dymanic team coaching, facilitation and offering advice, depending on what is needed.
Our session are extrememly practical, and our goal is always to get teams down to a practical, dynamic action level to get them understanding not just strategy but practical ‘who needs to do what by when’ actions to implement and make things happen after the session. We also teach teams the methodology to empower them to continue working on their strategy and action plans.
Depending on what’s needed, we run these programs virtually, face to face and hybrid using cutting-edge interactive facilitation tools that teams can continue to use and interact with after the session, even if they are hybrid or geographically remote.
We work with a huge range of teams from senior executive, Boards and C-suite teams nationally and internationally through to State-based organisations and local client/customer facing teams. We’ve successfully run sessions for large corporates, State Government entities, Local Government directorates and teams and Not-for-Profit organisations, so we have wide as well as deep experience to bring to the table.
A good example of our capability is where we ran multiple bespoke facilitation sessions for a prestigious NSW Government agency to dive deeper into their PMES results to understand the practical actions that need to change to boost engagement.
We set up a bespoke methodology (run remotely) to allow teams a psychologically safe and anonymous space to input the what they saw needed to start, stop or keep doing in the organisation. We then analysed these and distilled them down into practical day-to-day, on the ground recommendations and behaviours and presented these to the Executive.
We initially ran this with a section of the organisation – essentially the worst performing in terms of PMES results – and made recommendations from there. The program was so effective the agency applied the outcomes across the entire workforce and only had to ask us to work with the initial lowest-engaged groups.
We also have a niche speciality in successfully changing behaviours in executive teams that experience significant under-performance or ongoing conflict.
Team strategy, planning and facilitation sessions can of course be applied to many areas in which a group of executives or a team need assistance or development. Additionally, these sessions are also extremely powerful for leaders and their teams that do work well together, to understand what they do well and then what they need to take to the next level – and as always what actions need to be taken, by when, and by whom.
Our methodology is also of particular benefit when a combined team approach, message, and standard management practice needs to be agreed. For example, we facilitated a huge NSW Government agency’s executive team to construct a practical, behaviour-based Standard Leadership Practice Charter.
Other examples of practical application included:
- An agreement on a management/leadership/change message
- When behaviours need to be set for a common culture/values
- When a common change management practice needs to be implemented
- A performance improvement plan, as well team development and leadership development at all levels
- A solution for many organisational problems, including facilitating key strategy and action plans
