Emotional Intelligence is the single most critical leadership capability at all levels. We see it as THE single most significant factor leaders need to build an engaged, high-performing, psychologically safe team. It is also a critical factor in Managing Up, as well as influencing and building cross-organisational relationships and breaking down silos.
A lack of emotional intelligence in leaders can very rapidly erode psychological safety and lead to increased psycho-social hazards in the workplace. A lack of EQ can quickly curtail a promising career, crush people engagement and productivity, and massively increase staff turnover.
There are mountains of research indicating a robust correlation between high levels of Emotional Intelligence and improved performance, engagement, productivity and psychological safety.
Interestingly, recent research shows Emotional Intelligence peaks around Middle Management then drops sharply in Executive level leadership, hitting a low with C-Suite/ Executive Director/ Deputy Secretary level leaders.

Our ECR360 assessment offers an unlimited number of raters (within reason!) across people’s Manager, Peers, Direct Reports and Other Stakeholders.
The assessment informs people of their key Emotional Intelligence strengths, and of course their development areas and blind spots.
We also use a pioneering ECR360 Team Emotional Intelligence 360-degree assessment, which is very powerful in its own right. We suggest starting with this rather than going straight into the above group ECR360 program if there are underlying indications of poor Psychological Saftey mand/or trust.
We very rarely run an Emotional Intelligence 360 assessment without the guarantee of follow up Executive Coaching support. We’re happy to discuss our thinking about this.
